Hmm, looks nice!   Cheesy
I just don't know if I could get used to that wide aspect display and having such a large laptop in general.  I think I could do it on a desktop but not a laptop.

One thing about Apple though, you can't beat the bundled software, we both know you'll never get that much from M$.  cheesy

What do you think about Apple switching to Intel processors?

For sure! MS wouldn't ever give you a lot...heck, look what they're doing to the upcoming OS (whenever its supposed to come out, they keep pushing the date back)..they took the core features out of it and said they'll send them as a update somehow later....let alone them giving you a few nice programs like Apple does.

17" screen is a bit big, but I'm starting to have trouble with my eye sight so I need something big that would still look "normal" when things are blown up.

I think Apple's switch to Intel has its ups and downs. I neither agree with it nor disagree, sort of neutral...that is until I can get a Apple system with "Intel Inside (r)" hehe... But ever since the very first release of Mac OS X, they have been making an Intel version and testing it in the background... in their words: "Mac OS X has been leading a double life for the past five years." So at least they've been working on it for some time now, not like they just all of a sudden decided to switch platforms and start from the beginning now. They're making it really easy for software developers to make the switch too, which is nice. On a positive note, they'll be able to get the Mac's up to 3GHz and above now, IBM was holding them back from doing that (I hate IBM). Also, the G5 is having a tough time making it into the PowerBook and iBook lines because of the massive amounts of heat the G5 generates -- we all know IBM is not famous for making cool running processors. The only thing I'm really concerned about, the PowerPC processors from IBM that they were using, from what I've read, had some sort of special proramming that really proppelled the graphics. I don't know how Apple and Intel are working on that in the Intel chip insturction set. But I'm 100% Apple and Intel can easily work that out. Some are saying that the price of Apple's systems will come down, some say they won't - but we'll just have to wait and see now won't we? lol  Cheesy

If you want to know more about what Apple is doing for its OS and the switch.. check out the keynote address from the WWDC:  http://www.apple.com/quicktime/qtv/wwdc05/
